Why it’s built like this
Every food business keeps some of these records already, usually on a mix of clipboards, the backs of order sheets and one spiral notebook that has seen things. This kit replaces that with one matching set. Every sheet has the same layout, a form code in the corner, and the rule it is checking printed at the top, with the source named, so nobody has to remember whether hot holding is 135°F or 140°F.
The temperatures and limits on the sheets come from the FDA Food Code, and each one says where it comes from. Your state or county enforces its own version of the Food Code, and not every state has adopted the latest edition, so check your local code and follow your inspector where they differ. The sheets have room for your own limits if you need them.
The PDFs print on ordinary Letter paper at home or in an office, with margins wide enough for any printer. The spreadsheets are for the jobs that are easier on a screen: an allergen matrix you will edit every time the menu changes, a training record that flags expired cards, and versions of the fridge log and cleaning schedule for kitchens with too many units for one sheet.

Questions
- Is this kit enough to pass a health inspection?
- No kit can promise that. Inspections look at how you handle food, not only at paperwork. What these sheets do is give you a clear, consistent record of the checks inspectors usually ask about, so when you do the checks, you can show that you did them.
- Are the temperatures right for my state?
- The sheets use the FDA Food Code limits and name the section for each one. Most states base their rules on a version of the Food Code, but not always the latest one, and some add their own requirements. Check your state or local code; if a number differs, write your local limit on the sheet.
- What format are the files, and how do I get them?
- You get one zip file straight after checkout, with a download link by email as well. Inside are Letter-size PDFs for printing, Excel files that also open in Google Sheets and LibreOffice, a README and the license. No account, no app.
- Can I edit the PDFs?
- The PDFs are meant to be printed and filled in by hand. If you need to change columns or wording, use the Excel versions where they exist, or tell us what is missing: the files are generated from code, so a fix goes into the next version for everyone.
- Can I use it for more than one location?
- The license covers you and one business, including all of its staff. If you run several locations under one business, that is one business. If you run separate businesses, buy a kit for each.
- What if it isn’t what I needed?
- Email within 14 days of buying and we will refund you. No form, no questions.
