Why it’s built like this
Most small food businesses keep their records in the diary pages of Safer Food, Better Business, on a clipboard by the fridge, or not quite at all. This kit gives you a matching set of A4 record sheets for the checks that come up most: fridge and freezer temperatures, deliveries, cooking and cooling, hot holding, probe checks, allergens, cleaning, opening and closing, and training.
The sheets work alongside SFBB and your own food safety management system, never instead of them. Food law requires procedures based on HACCP principles, with records kept; these sheets are simply a tidy way to keep some of those records. Every limit printed on them comes from the FSA or the legislation, with the source named, and the rules are for England, Wales and Northern Ireland unless a sheet says otherwise.
The PDFs print on ordinary A4 paper with printer-safe margins. The spreadsheets are for the jobs that are easier on a screen: a 14-allergen matrix you will edit every time the menu changes, a training record that works out refresher dates, and versions of the fridge sheet and cleaning schedule for kitchens with more units than one page holds.

Guides
Questions
- Does this replace Safer Food, Better Business?
- No. SFBB, or your own HACCP-based system, is how you show your EHO that you manage food safety. These sheets are records that sit alongside it, in place of hand-drawn tables or loose notes. Ask your EHO if you are unsure what they want to see.
- Are the temperatures right for Scotland?
- The sheets use the rules for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland has different rules in places, such as reheating to at least 82°C, which the cooking and reheating sheet notes. Scottish businesses should check Food Standards Scotland guidance and CookSafe.
- What format are the files, and how do I get them?
- You get one zip file straight after checkout, with a download link by email as well. Inside are A4 PDFs for printing, Excel files that also open in Google Sheets and LibreOffice, a README and the licence. No account, no app.
- Will this help my food hygiene rating?
- Records are one part of what an inspector looks at. Good paperwork does not make up for poor practice, and no kit can promise a rating. What these sheets do is make the checks you already do easy to show.
- Is VAT included in the price?
- Yes. For UK buyers the £19 you see is what you pay, VAT included. Checkout is run by Link, Stripe’s payment service, which works out any tax for your location and shows the total before you pay.
- What if it isn’t what I needed?
- Email within 14 days of buying and we will refund you. No form, no questions.
